The WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship 2018 is in the running for a PRESTIGE Award of the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance. The event is a finalist in the category of Canadian Sport Event of the Year for events with a budget of less then CAD$ 1 million.

Felix Casavant, the co-chair of the organizing committee, commented: “It’s such a positive reflection on the city and what we can do as volunteers when we put our minds to it.”

The WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship 2018 generated a profit of CAD$ 150,000. The average attendance to the games was over 2,000 fans per day.
Casavant and co-chair Derek Smith were named earlier in January the 61st Prince Albert Citizens of the Year.
